Kev Payne is an author, illustrator and poet from Devon. He was a primary school teacher for 17 years and still loves working with children to develop their love of words and art.

Kev enjoys playing with ideas and is passionate about the impact books can have on children. He regularly travels the world to take workshops on writing and illustrating with a focus on having fun.

Kev has already written several titles including the ‘Gross & Ghastly’ series with DK and the picturebook, ‘Is That My Hat?’.

Kev was also the World Book Day author for Wales in 2024.
