Becky Stretton
Becky loves writing fun, quirky picture books and chapter book stories filled with wacky characters and madcap plots. Her writing has been long and shortlisted in a variety of competitions, including Write Mentor’s Children’s Novel and Picture Book Awards, Searchlight Children’s Award, Skylark’s Soaring Stories competition and the Amy Sparkes/Writing Magazine Picture Book Prize.
Becky has oodles of experience delivering fun and interactive sessions to children; she currently works for the NSPCC Schools Service, and was an English teacher in her life BC (Before Children). She’s taught in China, Mexico and India, has worked in children’s advocacy and has volunteered as a Childline counsellor and a Beanstalk reading helper.
When she’s not raising kids and cats, Becky enjoys researching unpopular animals and reading children’s books she wishes she’d written first.
