Emily MacNevin
Emily is a Birmingham based, British music/entertainment journalist and children’s author currently writing for Prog, Metal Hammer, Record Collector and Spin magazines. She has previously written for Acoustic, Guitar & Bass, Acoustic Guitar (US), Australian Guitar (AUS), Blunt (AUS), Big Cheese and The Skinny. She currently writes in-house for New York based publisher, Little Hippo Books, with books being published in the near future.
She has a real passion for creative writing and has always loved children’s books. As a child, Emily grew up reading a lot and loved writing stories, she was always scribbling words or drawing art which pushed her to study BA Hons Graphic Design: Visual Communication, before embarking on a Music Journalism course, followed by an NCTJ Multimedia Journalism Diploma.
Emily has written numerous novelty books and picture books, and was a Finalist in last year’s Page Turner Awards with a children’s picture book Ruby’s Big Red Heart – A Celebration of Loving Equally, for which she won a prize and was on the ‘Highly Commended’ list.
